Choosing a “Word of the Year” is more than a fun tradition. It is a powerful tool for focus and growth at The Princeton Senior Living. A single word can guide decisions, inspire action, and unite teams around a shared purpose. By reflecting on the word selected for the year, we gain insight into how it shaped our culture, strengthened connections, and supported meaningful experiences for residents and staff. This end-of-year review allows us to celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and prepare for continued progress in the year ahead.

At The Princeton, we embraced our 2025 Word of the Year, Collaborate, by weaving it into daily operations and resident experiences. Collaboration guided our morning stand-up meetings and kept every department aligned. These conversations helped ensure smooth transitions for new residents and consistent communication across teams.
The spirit of collaboration also shaped our major community events. Family Fun Day, the Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony were all built on shared planning and teamwork. By working together intentionally, each team member understood their role and helped create seamless, meaningful experiences for residents and families.
Collaboration strengthened our team culture throughout the year. Staff supported one another during busy periods and shared responsibilities during large-scale events. When challenges arose, team members stepped in to assist line staff and help maintain daily operations.

Employee town halls created space for open dialogue and collective problem-solving. Our focus on collaboration was inspired by a resident who once shared that he noticed staff and residents “walking hand in hand as one” during a Tree Lighting event. That moment became a lasting reminder of the unified community we strive to build.
Collaboration is more than a theme. It is a practice we rely on every day. By working together across departments and alongside our residents, we continue to strengthen our culture and elevate the resident experience. This commitment helps ensure The Princeton remains a place where people truly love to live and work.
As we look back on the impact of our Word of the Year at The Princeton Senior Living, it is clear that this simple concept can spark meaningful change. It has guided our priorities, strengthened our sense of community, and reinforced the values that matter most. By reflecting on the outcomes tied to this word, we celebrate what we have accomplished and identify opportunities for continued growth. One word truly can make a difference when it is lived every day.
