As Resident Services Director at The Princeton Senior Living, I’ve seen how a strong sense of community transforms senior living from a place to stay into a place to truly thrive. Building connections among residents, team members, and the surrounding neighborhood isn’t just a nice-to-have — it is essential for fostering well-being, joy, and purpose.
Creating community starts with understanding what makes each resident feel valued and included. It means designing experiences that spark conversation, laughter, and shared memories. Whether it is a small group event, a holiday celebration, an Act of Service, or a themed event, these moments strengthen relationships and help residents feel like they belong.
Every interaction is an opportunity to weave the fabric of community. When residents feel connected, they enjoy their days more fully and benefit from meaningful human connection.
Community, to me, means bringing people together and creating unity. It means supporting one another, caring for each other, and building an environment where everyone feels they belong.

Building strong connections is essential because those relationships create trust. Residents feel more secure in their neighbors, their home, and the relationships that shape daily life.
I encourage residents to engage by joining events, outings, town hall meetings, and Happy Hours. These shared experiences open doors to friendship and conversation. They also provide moments of joy and purpose.
Our community stays connected to the surrounding town through outreach activities such as beachball games, group outings, and special events. I look forward to expanding these partnerships and collaborating with nearby communities.
Some of my favorite events include Happy Hours, beachball games, theatre performances, and casino or sports outings. I especially love joint lunch outings with our neighborhoods. They always inspire new friendships and lively conversation.
To help new residents feel welcome, our ambassadors play a vital role. Their warmth and kindness make a noticeable difference. We also excel in move-in coordination, ensuring every resident feels comfortable and supported from day one.
At the heart of our community, connections are everything. Every conversation, shared laugh, and meaningful interaction enriches the lives of our residents. As Resident Services Director at The Princeton Senior Living, I’ve seen how intentional efforts to foster connection transform daily life. These efforts turn our building into a true home and create moments that residents and families treasure.
By prioritizing relationships, engagement, and a sense of belonging, we are not just planning events — we are building a vibrant, supportive community where everyone can thrive. Ultimately, the connections we nurture make all the difference.
